I will be the first to admit that laundry is not my favorite thing to do. One reason is because it feels like it never ends! There’s always going to be laundry to do, so my philosophy is why not try to make the best of it by making a space that’s organized, functional and aesthetically pleasing?
The next project for my laundry room was to get my laundry folding center all put together. I wish I could take credit for my awesome folding counter and shelves but we had it made for us when we built our house. I just gave them the measurements I wanted and told them how I wanted it to look (The measurements are 4 ft wide by 3ft high and 2 ft deep. The laundry baskets I used are 18 1/2 inches square and they fit perfectly) It’s turned out to be a great space to be able to fold the laundry on and put away. Each family member has their own laundry basket labeled with their name. I found these cute chalkboard signs at a local store and just tied them on. They were the perfect size for my baskets. Then I used a chalk marker to write our names on them. It makes it so easy when I have to fold laundry and simple to put each family member’s clothes away. My kids are old enough that they can help out with the folding and putting away too. When everything’s folded then my kids can just grab their basket and take it to their room. It works great 🙂
